The Corporation of the Township of Morley was delegated consent approval authority in December, 1998.

This gives the municipality authority to process and approve applications for local consent (severance).

Council has appointed a Land Division Committee to make the decision as to whether consent approval is granted or refused.

In considering each application for land severance, the Committee evaluates the merits of each proposal against criteria such as:

• Conformity with official plan and compatibility wih adjacent uses of land.
• Suitability of the land for the proposed purpose, including the size and shape of the lot(s) being created.
• Adequacy of vehicular access, water supply and sewage disposal.
• Conformity with Provincial Policy Statements.
